New DIY.... Yay!!

On a recent treasure hunt at the end of last year we stumbled across this super cute stool we think may have been a dressing table stool. It had major potential with those gold legs but the cushion fabric needed updating.

We could see the gold popping against a dark fabric which would also modernise it, we had some dark charcoal fabric from a past project which was perfect. So we gathered our supplies and got started...

This was a quick and easy update by simply removing the chair pad.  First things first we cleaned up that sucker. Our Charcoal upholstery fabric has a beautiful linen texture, that we love. We cut the fabric roughly to size then used a staple gun to secure it.  Then to hide the excess fabric we had some black calico which we used to line it for the backing.

It could be used back in the bedroom with a contemporary dresser, foot stool in the living room, a side table with an occasional chair topped with a tray to rest your friday bevy.

We love reviving these beautiful vintage pieces. No1 for 2017 and the hunt continues for more hidden treasures....!!!
